The Philippine Indpendnce Day

Today is June 12, the day where we, Filipinos celebrate our 110th independence from the country's colonizers. The declaration of the Philippine independence day was headed by Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. It was done at the ancestral home of the general in Kawit Cavite and was presented in huge crowd of people.

But don't you know that the declaration was not recognized by the United States nor Spain? The independence of the Philippines was recognized only on August 4, 1946 by the United States.

On August 4, 1964, President Diosdado Macapagal signed the Republic Act No. 416 proclaiming June 12 as Philippine Independence Day in the name of nationalism and sovereignty of the Philippine Republic upon the advice of historians. That's the reason why we celebrate June 12 as Independence Day and not August 4.

Happy Independence day to my fellow Filipino!^_^

BTW, i'll just insert here the tag I got from ate Naomi.

Pink Ribbon Month Tag

I've been tagged by ate Princess with this pink ribbon. Cancer is one cause of millions of deaths around the world and Breast Cancer is the 2nd common type of cancer next to lung cancer. Let's save lives by spreading this tag.

• The first sign of breast cancer usually shows up on a woman's mammogram before it can be felt or any other symptoms are present.
• Risks for breast cancer include a family history, atypical hyperplasia, delaying pregnancy until after age 30 or never becoming pregnant, early menstruation (before age 12), late menopause (after age 55), current use or use in the last ten years of oral contraceptives, and daily consumption of alcohol.
• Early detection of breast cancer, through monthly breast self-exam and particularly yearly mammography after age 40, offers the best chance for survival.
• Ninety-six percent of women who find and treat breast cancer early will be cancer-free after five years.
• Over eighty percent of breast lumps are not cancerous, but benign such as fibrocystic breast disease.
• You are never too young to develop breast cancer! Breast Self-Exam should begin by the age of twenty.

Resources: American Cancer Society National Cancer Institute Komen Foundation

You can help the lives of many women by spreading the word about The Breast Cancer Site pink button as many times as you can. If The Breast Cancer Site receives 8 million clicks on the pink button in June, their premier sponsor -Bare Necessities- will donate $10,000 for more free mammograms. CLICK the pink button today!

God's Greatest Artwork

God's Greatest Artwork

In a far away land,
I saw two people holding hands...
They were so sweet to each other
And no one had the courage to bother...

The girl pushed the boy a while after
But the boy ran and hugged her,
Wiped her eyes full of tears...
Suddenly, she smiled with no fears..

There I saw how much they love each other
And how much they care for one another...
I was amazed of how love really works...
It was, indeed, God's greatest artwork.

The boy kissed the girl on the forehead,
and her cheeks turned into red...
They walked again holding hands,
and found their way to the promised land...

It's the poem i made for my cousin.. hehehe..
Well, it's more of a story than a poem... Just couldn't think of something to write to so i had decided to write something about her-- her lovelife... and so that's the story of her lovelife.. hehehe... oh! the last stanza's a lilbit funny. my friend resty commented that it sounds awkward. it's just that i thought the word "promised land" rhymns on the above line plus it could best descibe on a situation where in the couples have really decided to keep their relationship forever...

a qoute for you

I just want to share to you a very nice quote i quoted from abs-cbn, your song(I'll take care of you episode).

"You can always close your eyes if you don't want to see things...but the heart can feel everything--even the things you don't want to feel"

well, it's not actually the right words written in the said show but that's what it says...i mean, that's what the quote wanted to say!

Mother's Day

MORE THAN A MOTHER

When God set the world in place,
when He hung the stars up in space,
when He made the land and the sea,
then He made you and me.

He sat back and saw all that was good,
He saw things to be as they should.
Just one more blessing He had in store;
He created a mother, but whatever for?

He knew a mother would have a special place
to shine His reflection on her child's face.
A mother will walk the extra mile
just to see her children smile.
She'll work her fingers to the bone
to make a house into a home.

A mother is there to teach and guide,
a mother will stay right by your side.
She'll be there through your pain and strife,
she'll stay constant in your life.

A mother will lend a helping hand
until you have the strength to stand.
She'll pick you up when you are down,
when you need a friend she'll stick around.

A mother is one who listens well,
will keep her word; will never tell.

A mother never pokes or pries
but stands quietly by your side,
giving you the strength you need,
encouraging you to succeed.

A mother is one who can be strong
when you need someone to lean on.

You're more than a mother to me;
a reflection of Him in your face I see,
a love that knows no boundaries.

I'm glad that you chose to be
all this and more to me.
You share a love that knows no end,
you're more than my mother,
you are my friend.

~By Kari Keshmiry~

Happy Mother's day to all the mothers around! :)

Missing a friend

I hate the way you talk to me
and the way you cut your hair
I hate the way you drive my car
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots
and the way you read my mind
I hate you so much it makes me sick
it even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you're always right
I hate it when you lie
I hate it when you make me laugh
even worse when you make me cry
I hate it that you're not around
and the fact that you didn't call
But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you
not even close,
not even a little bit,
not even any at all.

i am just sharing you the poem(if it's a poem...actually, i don't know what he is talking there, in the poem..hahaha) sent to me by my friend lucky last week--but have just read it minutes ago...

honestly speaking, i kinda miss the boy(boy talaga noh)..hehehe.. the boy who used to call me "mommy"(really can't forget that), the boy who used to visit me at my boarding house the time when i used to board...and the boy who used to hold my hand... haaayyzzz... we haven't talk for so long---one on one conversation as we always did before...well actually, he always does the talking and i always do the listening...lol! he talks a lot, yah know... but he is very intelligent. he knows a lot of thing..very logical and rartional being! the closeness slowly vanished when he sy 2007-08 came because we were no longer classmates and we seldom see each other... plus he became a seminarian...yah, you read it right, he went to the seminary coz he decided to become a priest... things changed after then...coz when you are in the seminary, you can't control the time and all has limitations. but am happy for him though. he is maturing now unlike before. well, naiinis nga ako palagi sa kanya before eh kasi super kulit! as in ung talagang makulit!!! i can still remember that every time na naiinis ako sa kanya, i always write it on my blog in friendster and he always read it and always make comments...hahaha... my first blog here in blogger, The Life Story ("My Treasure" before) has so many stories about him...just deleted all of them when he figured the blog out... hehehe...
but he found the place where he belongs now...and really wishing the best for him! :)

if you want to know more about him just click here and here. the latter is his friendster blog. :)

ps.
if you choose to read his blog and make some comment there, plss don't mention my name,, hehehe... thank you!

Gee.. I like this tag! hehe.. One way of getting to know more about our blogger friends. this one's from ate Naomi...thanks po! It contains questions pertaining to yourself... but it's not that easy to answer though, some require a lil thinking before answering, as what ate Naomi said.. hehehe

I WANT to go to England someday!
I HAVE 3 siblings(all boys kasi ako lang nga yong girl dba?)
I WISH I have magic to heal the Philippine state.

I HATE pretentious people--plastic ones!
I SEARCH for a true friendship.
I WONDER what's inside the head of the Madam President, Gloria arroyo right now... hmmm???

I LOVE my family, grandparents, uncle and aunties, cousins and friends.
I ALWAYS sing...hahahaha...

I SING always... frustrated nga!
I CRY secretly whenever i get hurt.
I WRITE things about life and issues in the society.
I AM CONFUSED what am i going to do after college. hahaha.. to teach or to study in the law school?

I NEED to get rest after this, i guess. masakit kasi and katawan ko, tribute party kasi namin sa mga 4th years ng club.. haha.. naglaro kasi kmi sa tubig ng habulan at kung anu2 pa.. we had fun actually and now am so tired...

Copy and Paste: For girls only!

this is just a copy and paste thing...my friend Happy sent this to me on my friendster...

A store that sells husbands has just opened in New
York City, where a woman may go to choose a husband.

Among the instructions at the entrance is a
description of how the store operates. You may visit
the store ONLY ONCE!

There are six floors and the attributes of the men
increase as the shopper ascends the flights.

There is, however, a catch. ... You may choose any man
from a particular floor, or you may choose to go up a
floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the
building!

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a
husband. .

On the first floor the sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 - These men have jobs and love the Lord.

*********

The second floor sign reads:

Floor 2 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, and love
kids.

*********

The third floor sign reads:

Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love
kids, and are extremely good looking.

" Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

*********

She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads:

Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love
kids, are drop- dead good looking and help with the
housework.

"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!"

*********

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and sign reads:

Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love
kids, are drop- dead gorgeous, help with the
housework, and have a strong romantic streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth
floor and the sign reads:

*********

Floor 6 - You are visitor 4,363,012 to this floor.
There are no men on this floor. This floor exists
solely as proof that women are impossible to please.

Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. Watch
your step as you exit the building, and have a nice
day!

hmmmm.. is this true girls?

Sulat ng Ama sa Anak

the first time i read this natawa talaga ako. it's obvious kung sino ang pinasasaringan ng mga linya nito.. haaayyzzz... feel pity for the person na pinupoint out nang letter.. kahindik2 at nakasuklam2 ang tingin nang halos lahat ng tao sa kanya ngayon! pero belib ako sa kanya kasi kahit ganun eh carry nya parin...phew!

btw, got this lines from school, someone posted it on the wall..

Tag:New techniques in Spreading HIV (Be careful). Must Read!

i don't really know if it's true guys, it was just forwarded to me on my friendster.
here, read it.

A few weeks ago, in a cinema, a person felt something poking from her seat. When
she got up to see what it was, she found a needle sticking out of the seat with
a note attached saying "You have just been infected by HIV (AIDS)".

The
Disease Control Center (in Paris ) reports many similar events in many other
cities recently. All tested needles were HIV Positive. The Center also reports
that needles have been found in cash dispensers (ATM) at public banking
machines. We ask everyone to use extreme caution when faced with this kind of
situation. All public chairs/seats should be inspected with vigilance and
caution before use. A careful visual inspection should be enough. In addition,
they ask that each of you pass this message along to all members of your family
and your friends of the potential danger.

Recently, one doctor has
narrated a somewhat similar instance that happened to one of his patients at the
Praia Cinema in Delhi . A young girl engaged and about to be married in a couple
of months, was pricked while the movie was going on. The tag with the needle had
the message : "Welcome to the World of HIV family". Though the doctors told her
family that it takes about 6 months before the virus grows strong enough to
start damaging the system and a healthy victim could survive about 5-6 years,
the girl died in 4 months, perhaps more because of the "Shock thought". We all
have to be careful at public places, rest God help! Just think about saving a
life by forwarding this message. Please, take a few seconds of your time to pass
along.

Remember ... to pass this on to everyone you know... Probably
your mail can help save a life.

wether it's true or not guys, i guess we really have to be vigilant and careful nowadays. we don't know what are the dangers around us. diseases/virus are keep growing in number and are spreading so fast. let's save life by tagging this information to everyone on our blog rolls! common guys, walang mawawala satin pag ginawa natin to bagkus makakatulong pa nga tau, we will make other people be aware of these things!

A Greeting!

The Tag Thing

Omigosh...am recieving so much tags that this is the only time I can post them all--coz of the school thing.

This one comes from Ate Myrna and JK.

Eight Facts You Don't Know About Me!

In the eight facts about yourself, you share eight things that your readers don't know about you. Then at the end, you tag at least eight other bloggers to keep the fun going.

Here are the rules:

* Each blogger must post these rules first.
* Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
* At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
* Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.

Here's my eight facts you don't know about me:

1. I'm the first grandchild of my grand parents--both sides.

2. I've grown to my grandparents(mother's side) care. My parents left me with my Lola(grandmother) when i was little because they were both working in the City. When the time came my parents decided to take me from her, she suffered from a heart attacked...so my parents let her take care of me since then. But I have this close relationship with my parents though. When my Lola took me that doesn't mean my parents were deprived of their right to own me as their daughter. I mean i just sleep at my Lola's house...that's all. In fact, my grandparents and our house now are built in one compound...

is it not confusing? mukha kasing ang gulo ng pagkakaexplain ko.

2. I'm a Papa's girl and a Lola's girl as well---obviously.

3. Favorite color is green.

4. Frustrated singer.

5. My feet are both left--don't know how to dance!

6. Been a chat addict.

7. Shy-typed of person.

8. Value friends so much!

Now i'm tagging Lalaine's World, Twinkletoe, Lutchi, Chubby, Gracie, Wella, Jana, and Angel.

3. Here is the best part: Make sure to update your list every now and then, by getting the master list here. I’ll be updating the master list every day, or as soon as I see a new blog that’s been added to the list. ^_^

From Tina:

Rule #1

Copy all the links below and replace a single link under the appropriate alphabet. If your domain name, or even the title of your blog, starts with an “A,” you’d replace the link under that alphabet and put the replaced link at the bottom. Also, don’t forget to credit the tagger, or where you got the list from, at the end of the list with a full URL of the post so that a pingback gets generated.

1. A. angelblush.blogspot.com
2. B. bloggingcents.com

3. C. chocmintgirl.blogspot.com

4. D. delusionsofgrandeur.com

5. E. enjoyingtheride-jenn.blogspot.com

6. F. forumfinder.net

25. Y. yimto.com

26. Z. zbudapest.com

Replaced link: ladylike4.com

Previous tagger: angelblush.blogspot.com

Rule #2

You now have to “tag” at least five people and encourage them to participate so that this thing spreads like a virus. Remember, though, that not everyone’s into these kinds of things, so don’t be upset if they don’t participate. Just simply replace your tag. Remember to tag blogs only and no pornographic ones as we do want to keep the integrity as a blogging community. TIP: Tag your frequent EntreCard droppers via its messaging system.

I’m tagging:

JK

Princess

Gina: The Meliorist

Sheng

ILovePhilippines

Rule #3

Just like any other “meme” out there, ask a question for your taggees to answer along with your own answer to your previous question. This is optional.

Tina, didn't ask question so i have no question to answer.

uhmmm..so okay..here's my question:

What is your main reason for blogging?

Answer:

~END HERE~

Well i guess, that's all for now..

To all those people who tagged me whose tags are not posted, just send me a message guys for me to post it later...nakalimutan ko na kasi kong cnu pa yong nagbigay sakin ng tag eh(been bussy eh)...
